Priests are famous for sticking up for their beliefs, even when it might kill them. So if you are uncompromising in your faith and it is being persecuted (or you are standing up for people being persecuted), then things are bound to get messy.  But, generally speaking, the only danger you are in is the power of God going to your head.  This is just a friendly Shmoop-reminder that you are not, in fact, the Lord our Savior.
