How It All Goes Down
- Mom throws away the poisoned meat before Bailey can eat it.
- At Christmastime, Hannah visits again, and she and Ethan go sledding.
- Hannah and Ethan bump into Todd, but not in a literal Ethan Frome sense.
- Hannah recalls Todd stirring up trouble at the football game.
- Ethan calls Todd out on his bad behavior. "This is why you don't have any friends, Todd. Why can't you just be normal? You're always doing stupid things like this" (14.38).
- That's sure to make Todd change his ways.
- At night, Bailey climbs over a mound of snow to get out of the backyard and explore the neighborhood.
- When he gets back, he sees Todd lighting a fire.
- But Todd isn't trying to stay warm. He's trying to burn the family's house down.
- Bailey attacks Todd, but the little arsonist escapes.
- Ethan, however, is trapped inside the house. Will he get out?
