Character Analysis
Always supportive and concerned about the needs of others, Esme tries to mother Jacob, Leah, and Seth when they leave Sam's pack to protect the Cullens. Seth gladly takes to her cooking. Jacob initially hesitates, but also warms up to her, admitting to himself that Esme reminds him of his own mother. Since Esme lost her child as a human, like Rosalie she struggles with not being able to have children, so she sides with Bella on her wish to give birth to Renesmee. Esme also renovates a little cottage in the woods for Edward and Bella as a birthday gift to Bella.
