Rebecca "Becca" Berlin Timeline and Summary

Growing up, Becca hears her grandmother Gemma's bedtime story, Briar Rose, approximately 20 million times.
When Becca is 23, Gemma dies. Before her death, Gemma swore up and down that she really is Briar Rose. After the funeral, Becca decides to investigate her grandmother's strange claim.
Becca sorts through the clues when a box of her grandmother's belongings surface. It includes photos, immigration papers, and other mementos.
Her boss, Stan, who is also pretty irresistible, helps her out. What a nice guy.
Suspecting that Gemma was in Poland during World War II—which goes against what Gemma told her family growing up—Becca travels overseas to investigate some leads.
Becca teams up with a translator, Magda, and travels to Chelmno, a Polish town where many Jews were exterminated during the war.
Becca and Magda meet Josef Potocki, who tells them the true story of Magda's life—at least the parts he knows.
Becca heads home to tell her family what she's learned.
