Briar Rose Chapter 6 Summary

  • Becca wakes in the middle of the night. She tries to watch TV, but she can't find anything good.
  • She's drawn towards the papers and photos from Gemma's box. She tries to tell herself that they don't matter, but she doesn't quite believe it.
  • She contemplates how Gemma didn't have any family, really. No parents. No husband. Why not?
  • The strangeness goes for the fairy tale, too. The more Becca contemplates Gemma's Briar Rose story, the stranger it seems. It was an awfully dark version where almost everyone in the kingdom went to sleep and never woke up.
  • Becca spends the rest of the evening going through the box. Eventually she falls asleep in her chair.
  • There are newspaper clippings among the stuff in the box. They're dated from 1944 to 1956. There are also a bunch of undated photographs and documents.
  • Eventually, Becca goes back to bed. But hey, pat on the back for the late-night research sesh.
