Cat's Cradle Chapter 109 Summary

Frank Defends Himself

  • John asks his technical advisor how they should technically go about cleaning up the mess.
  • Frank lays out a plan involving "'brooms, dustpans, blowtorch, hot plates, [and] buckets'" (109.3). Go team!
  • He starts to leave to order a funeral pyre built, and Angela demands to know how he could give a man like "Papa" the ice-nine.
  • Frank counters that they all bought something they wanted with the stuff: Angela her husband, Newt, his dancer. Then he slams the door on his way out.
