Cat's Cradle Chapter 29 Summary

Gone, But Not Forgotten

  • John has one more thing to do in Ilium. He wants to take a picture of Hoenikker's tomb.
  • He takes a taxi to the cemetery and is directed to the biggest marker in the place—twenty feet high. John remarks that it's a fitting memorial for an atomic bomb father.
  • He asks the taxi driver to stand next to it for scale, but when they wipe away the snow to view the name, they spy the word "MOTHER" on the tombstone.
