An Underprivileged Nation
- As seen from the air, San Lorenzo has one city, the capital, Bolivar. Some mountains too.
- The city was made of "twigs, tin, crates, and mud" when Bokonon and McCabe found it (60.8). With the exception of some new buildings around the waterfront, it still is.
- San Lorenzo is just that poor of an island with that large of a population.
- How bad is it? Once, McCabe and Johnson decided to split the country's total income between every citizen. Each share came to something between six and seven dollars.
