Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Chapter 22: An A-Z of Fantastic Beasts - N Summary

How It All Goes Down

Niffler

  • Nifflers are fluffy with long snouts and enjoy looking for shiny things. Goblins often use them when hunting for treasure.
  • It's a bad idea to keep them inside your house though (who knows what they might go hunting for). They're more comfortable living about twenty feet below ground.
  • (Harry Potter book shout out: In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth year student use Nifflers to hunt for gold on the grounds. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, two Nifflers destroy Dolores Umbridge's office. She had that one coming.)

Nogtail

  • These creatures look just like pigs and make a habit of sneaking into barns and pretending to be regular little piglets. The longer they hang around, the worse things are for the farm.
  • Luckily, they can be chased off by a pure white dog. Where's an albino bloodhound when you need it?

Nundu

  • This gigantic beast looks a bit like a leopard…and you'll want to steer clear because its breath really packs a punch. It can breath deadly disease onto entire villages.
  • It will take a few hundred wizards working together to get this beast under control. Good luck, friends.
