The Grand Budapest Hotel Scene 2 Summary

  • The Author, using his cue cards and talking into a camera, tells us that writers don't endlessly invent incidents and characters. These things are brought to the writer, so long as he is aware and observant.
  • A boy, presumably the Author's son, runs in and shoots him with a toy gun. The Author yells at him but is unable to dissuade his recklessness.
  • The boy comes and apologizes as the Author finishes by telling us that what he is about to say is in every way as accurate as it was told to him.
