  • The Treaty of Paris had some fuzzy language about dividing up territory along "the middle" (VI.1) of the lakes and the Cataraquy River. This is the "split the cookie in half" dilemma. Who knows where the middle is?
  • To settle the ownership of islands in the Great Lakes, a third duo of commissioners is appointed, with all the same powers as the other commissioners.
  • And of course, a friendly Sovereign or State will be the judge in any disagreement.
