Connie James (Evangeline Lilly)

Character Analysis

Connie is Will's wife and the mother of his child. It seems like Will thinks they are broken up while he's in Iraq, but when he comes home, we see them all living together—you know, doing family stuff like going grocery shopping and making salads.

We don't get the sense that Connie is super understanding about Will's war experience or his love for dismantling bombs. He actually tries to talk to her about it, but she isn't very responsive:

WILL: Some guy drove his truck into the middle of an Iraqi market, starts passing out free candies. All the kids coming running up, the families and stuff. He detonates. They're saying 59 are dead. You know they need more bomb techs.

CONNIE: You want to chop those up for me?

We don't know a whole lot about their relationship, but between their previous breakup (or whatever it was) and their apparent non-communication in this exchange, we're not sure these two are headed for a happy ending.
