Exactly how steamy is this story?

Mia is thirteen, so we wouldn't be surprised if she's thinking about the hot guys in her class. In general, though, she has more important things on her mind. So the only heart thumping exchange we get is when she has her first kiss with Adam (13.38), and we wouldn't exactly call it steamy. In other words, Mia is interested in guys, but she certainly doesn't spend her day musing over them. She's too busy figuring out this synesthesia thing to worry about crushes day in and day out.
