Exactly how steamy is this story?

We almost hesitate to give this an R, as there the sex in this book is not explicit. On the other hand, sex is everywhere. Often the romantic scenes that lead up to it are all we get, other than vague intimations. One character actually says "Take me!" when she wants another character to have sex with her. Sex can also be pretty dark in Tender is the Night, as it deals with incest and adultery. But it can also be beautiful, even if we don’t see it happen.
