Glory

There is a level of personal glory for the bus driver. Though there may be days when you feel like you've been disrespected, stomped on, and kicked to the curb, there are other days when you go home knowing that you've done some good. You may have:

  • Stopped the loud ranting of a man who was furious that someone was sitting in his seat. Check.

  • Managed to give directions to a group of Parisian tourists...in French (you knew it would come in handy some day, non?). Check.

  • Deftly maneuvered around a crate of cabbages that fell off the market truck, thereby saving the cabbages and not hitting the dog that raced over to inspect them. Check.

  • Given up one of your transfers to a little boy who wanted a "ticket" like his father's. This elicited many "oohs," and "ahhs" from all who witnessed your sweet act. Check.

Yep, there are those days.
