The odds of hanging on in this profession are really good, especially if you can keep up with the advances in technology. Dentists now use computers, lasers, air-abrasion, CAT scans, Intraoral cameras and NTI-tss devices to perform treatments. A dentist’s office could look like a set from a science fiction movie. To stay relevant and offer their patients the newest in dental advancements, dentists have to purchase and learn to use new equipment. They also have to hire dental technicians that have been trained to use the equipment. Don’t be surprised if the newest in dentistry becomes embryonic braces.
