If you become a master of electrical engineering, you could be the next Nikola Tesla—or at least work at Tesla Motors.

Now, while good ol' Nikola might not be a household name, you've surely heard of his rival, Thomas Edison.

However, the fact is that even if you do create the next big thing, you'll likely be working as part of a team, and the credit will go to the company, university, or government that pays your salary.

The moral of the story here is that as an electrical engineer you're not likely to end up on the cover of tabloids or being chased around by the paparazzi. Although there must be some engineering magazines out there—maybe you'll be mentioned in one of them.
