Grr!
Just lion around after a long, drunken night. I seem to have lost my sun-disk hat. [Statue of Sekhmet (New Kingdom, temple of Mut at Karnak, ca. 1350 BCE), now in the National Museum, Copenhagen, Denmark. Photo 2007 by McLeod.]

Taking a Break in Padua
Italy was great! The Paduans were very nice. They even put out a chair with my name carved on the base. [Statue of Sekhmet (New Kingdom, temple of Mut at Karnak, ca. 1350 BCE), now in the Civic Museum, Padua, Italy. Photo 2006 by Semolo75. ]

Standing Guard
Making sure nobody does anything funny at Medinet Habu. [Statue of Sekhmet (New Kingdom, Medinet Habu temple, ca. 1180 BCE). Photo 2007 by Asta.]

Beach Party
A bunch of the statues Amunhotep III made for me sitting out by the sacred lake. They look so sad now, so broken. Anybody got any glue? We need a lot of it. [Statues of Sekhmet (New Kingdom, ca. 1350 BCE), in situ at the temple of Mut in Karnak (Luxor, Egypt). Photo 2005 by Sebi.]

Family Fun in Memphis
Having our statue carved at Memphis was fun! Standing still for months on end wasn't. [Statue of Ptah, Sekhmet, and Ramses II as the god Nefertem (Memphis Triad), ca. 1250 BCE. Currently in the open-air museum at Memphis, Egypt. Photo 2004 by Sebi.]

Protecting the King
If anybody gets near Ramses, I'm going to bite them. [Statue of Ptah, Sekhmet, and Ramses II, ca. 1250 BCE. From Memphis, Egypt. Currently in the garden of the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt. Photo 2004 by Sebi.]

Visiting the Pope
We had a great talk about social justice. [Statue of Sekhmet (New Kingdom, temple of Mut at Karnak, ca. 1350 BCE), now in the Museo Gregorio du Vatican, Vatican City. Photo 2008 by Neithsabes.]
