The "I want you to play me like a cello" (6.41) episode is clearly sexual in nature, but exactly how sexual is left up to the reader's imagination. As a guitar player, Adam is good with his hands, making Mia experience a "dizzying crescendo, sending every nerve ending in [her] body on high alert" (6.49), which sounds a lot like the big O.
The day after Adam and Mia pluck each other's strings, Mia tells Adam she loves him. He responds, "I thought you might just be using me for sex" (6.51), as a joke, implying that the two did have sex, even though Adam seems to keep his pants on the whole time.
