Mad Max: Fury Road Scene 21 Summary

  • The next morning, Max watches the women make their way across the salt flats in the distance. We'd say he almost looks sad to see them go, but that would imply that Max expresses emotions.
  • Suddenly, he hears the voice of the young girls he couldn't save.
  • Then he sees her in the distance. "Come on, Pa, let's go," she says.
  • Somehow, this vision has made up his mind. He pursues the women into the desert and stops their convoy.
  • He approaches Furiosa with his handmade map, and tells her "This is your way home."
  • He wants them to go back to the Citadel, the greenest place they know of. They can drive straight at Immortan Joe, trap them in the canyon, and then take the Citadel for themselves. Simple, right?
  • It would be a way for them to start again, without risking death in the desert.
  • As Max puts it, "At least that way, you know, we might be able to, together, come across some kind of redemption."
  • Well said?
  • They shake on it. It's a plan.
