- Nina is feeling sick and confused, so she asks Horace why they have to go rescue Reuben. He says that he can't afford to get involved with the police.
- Horace talks Nina into going with him—just the two of them—on a rescue mission to get Rueben back. They'll use their night vision to get in and out before the McKinnons can even see what's going on. It'll be awesome. Right…
- Horace calls a cab, and they sneak out. Nina's sunglasses are gone, so she suggests borrowing her mom's, which are in her purse.
- The cab drive is kind of awkward, since Nina and Horace don't look normal, and the cab driver assumes they're on their way to or from a costume party.
- Nina realizes that Horace is planning to pay the cab driver in cash, but he never carries cash, so she confronts him, and he admits to stealing it from her mom's purse.
- They arrive at Nefley's place, and Horace doesn't have enough money to pay the cab driver. Nor does he have a credit card. The cab driver threatens to call the police, and Horace calls Dave—who is pulling up right then.
