  • Saturday, June 3, 2000 (Clare is 29, Henry is 36): Back in the present, Henry tells Clare that he won't keep trying to have a baby, because Clare's life is more important to him.
  • Friday, June 9, 2000/November 19, 1986 (Henry is 36, Clare is 35): Henry sits at a doctor's office, waiting to get a vasectomy. He's tense and feels like a traitor. When he gets called in, he time travels back to the meadow by Clare's family home. Clare arrives. She's about fifteen or sixteen years old. Henry tells her that he will do something in the present that will really hurt her, but that it's for her own good. When Clare keeps pressing him to tell her, he kisses her roughly. Clare is shocked and hurt. It turns out that this was the first time Henry kissed her. Ouch! Henry asks to try again. He tries to put his heart into hers in "take two."
  • Friday, June 9, 2000 (Clare is 29, Henry is 36): During dinner, Clare notices that Henry is distracted. When he won't tell her why, Clare reveals that she knows he got a vasectomy.
