Requirements:
Students with demonstrated financial need who want to study outside the US are in luck. This scholarship was designed to encourage students who are under-represented in the study abroad arena—e.g., community college students, those with high financial need, students from diverse backgrounds, and those with special needs—to head to destinations that are also under-represented on the study abroad map. If you are thinking about heading to Australia or Italy for a semester, this is not the award for you. While the maximum award is $5,000, students studying a critical needs language like Chinese, Arabic, Swahili, or a Persian language can apply for an additional $3,000 in funding through the Critical Need Language Supplement program.
