The Bourne Identity Chapter 15 Summary

How It All Goes Down

  • A bunch of random intelligence agency people are bickering importantly about Cain (that is, Bourne) and Zurich. They are manly men doing manly things with briefcases.
  • One of them is David Abbott, an old intelligence dude called the Silent Monk, of all things. He matters later, so keep an eye on him.
  • Anyway, they all appear to have lost the dangerous assassin Cain somewhere in Europe.
  • Bicker, bicker, bicker.
  • It turns out that the CIA and the Pentagon haven't been coordinating. One intelligence guy suggests to the other intelligence guys that Carlos is manipulating them all so that they go after Cain rather than Carlos, who is the real bad guy.
  • This makes everybody bicker even more.
  • Congressman Walter from Congressional oversight tells them they are all whiny babies and that he's a lawyer and knows how real men talk.
  • "Who the hell is Cain?" Congressperson Walter demands at the end. Salty talk, Congressman.
