- She tries to tell him about some news from South America—how two villages have been covered in black stuff and lots of peoplehave died. The Global Alliance blames the United States for this industrial disaster.
- Despite Violet's pleas for him to not drive unsafely, Titussets off for her place (on autopilot, so NBD?).
- He sleeps for most of the ride, but hears several things onthe feed, including an ominous message from the Global Alliance about the danger America poses to the Earth's environment, and how American corporations must be stopped.
- When he gets to Violet's house, she's waiting outside for him.
- He tells her that it will take them five days to do thethings on Violet's list that they are actually able to do.
