Fandoms

People love Wes Anderson.

In part, they love him because his movies are just so dang pretty: His aesthetic has launched themed weddings, fan art shows, and Elle style guides (Your Guide To A Wes Anderson-Inspired Wardrobe). Wes Anderson himself designed a bar in Milan that people are flocking to because drinking a cocktail in a room with a Wes Anderson-approved color scheme is a super-seductive idea.

Also, people really loved The Grand Budapest Hotel—critics were raving about it when it came out and it's thought by many to be Anderson's best movie… which is saying something.

However, there's a difference between critics and the general population both being equally enthused about a movie, and there being a dedicated fandom. There are a zillion and a half Wes Anderson superfans, but not a ton are Grand Budapest-specific… unless they're as secret and exclusive as the Society of the Crossed Keys.
