Hoot Theme of Friendship

Like most great YA books, Hoot focuses on the main character and his bosom buddies. Roy's major friendships (with Mullet Fingers, Beatrice and Garrett) are all very different from each other.

But what is important to note in Roy's case is that his relationships with Beatrice and Mullet Fingers also change drastically. It's also impressive how Garrett goes to the protest in support of Roy and the same with Beatrice's soccer team. Clearly, their friends think highly enough of them to support a cause that is close to their hearts.
