Exactly how steamy is this story?

There's a lot of thinking about sex in My Heartbeat, but thankfully for the censors (or the folks who love to ban books), there's only one actual sex scene, and it's pretty darn mild. Ellen and James do finally do the deed, but it's not super descriptive, so no need to avert your eyes.
On the other hand, even though there's nothing super explicit, this book does contend with a lot of adult sexual ponderings, so we're going to give it a PG-13 rating.
