The Big Lebowski Scene 25 Summary

  • "Darkness washed over The Dude," the cowboy's voiceover tells us.
  • Then, we see the opening credits of The Dude's nightmare: "Jackie Treehorn presents ... Gutterballs."
  • As Kenny Rogers's "Just Dropped In (to See What Condition My Condition Was In)" plays, The Dude's psychedelic dream begins.
  • He's a repairman, kind of like Uli's character in Logjammin'. He's dancing down a flight of stairs with moves that would put BeyoncĂ© to shame.
  • At the bottom of the stairs is Maude Lebowski, who's dressed like a Viking. (Yes, you read that right.)
  • As women in bowling pin headdresses encircle her, The Dude teaches her how to bowl. Maude throws a rock, and The Dude follows it down the lane.
  • Then, everything fades to black and the German nihilists appear, holding giant scissors with the intention of cutting off The Dude's Johnson.
  • Mercifully, The Dude wakes up. He's running down the street and pulled into a cop car.
