How It All Goes Down
- Spectators gather on the top of Wyrmberg, and the Loremaster explains the rules of the battle to come.
- Hrun says he'll challenge both at once, despite how unfair the odds are for his opponents.
- Since Lio!rt and Liartes are the challenged, they get to choose the weapon. They choose dragons.
- Hrun refuses a weapon, stating he'd rather be dead than fly on one of those again.
- Lio!rt swoops down for an attack, and on the second run, Hrun leaps over the dragon and catches the dragonlord across the chin.
- When Lio!rt passes out, the dragon disappears, sending both men tumbling to the ground.
- Hrun asks Liessa what happened, and she quickly explains that the dragon can't exist without a pathway into the world, which, in this case, was Lio!rt's mind. Oops.
- Liartes sweeps down, keeping out of Hrun's range by attacking with fire.
- Hrun sprints for a nearby wood where the dragon can't fly.
- Liartes brings the dragon down, dismounts, and decides to have the dragon burn his quarry out.
- Hrun drops from a tree in a full on sprint, managing to reach Liartes before the dragon can react and rocks Liartes's world.
- The dragon disappears—and luckily for Hrun, the incoming fire disappears with it.
- Liessa orders him to kill her brothers, but Hrun refuses on account of the fact that they are unconscious. A man like him has to consider his image, you know.
- Hrun asks about his third test. Liessa takes off her robe and offers Hrun a glass of wine (though where she's kept that wine is anybody's guess). The third challenge has begun.
