- Detective Snyder eats in a diner when two FBI agents walk in and tell him that Special Agent Polk would like to speak with him.
- Snyder walks off to meet with Polk. He wants to know what's going on, but Polk tells him to sit down and shut up.
- Polk wants to know about Johnny Hooker because apparently, Hooker has been working with Henry Gondorff on a huge score.
- All Agent Polk wants is for Snyder to scoop up Johnny so the FBI can turn him against Henry.
- Polk says he's sick of local cops making money by tipping off con artists about the FBI, so this time the FBI isn't going to tell the local police.
- And as long as Snyder can keep his mouth shut, he'll be able to make some money.
