- Next thing you know, we've got a montage of Johnny going out and buying himself a fancy new suit and walking with flowers into a burlesque theater.
- Backstage, Johnny meets a girl named Crystal and convinces her to come out with him to a gambling den.
- He stops to play some roulette and puts three thousand dollars on the color red. The guy running the wheel doesn't want to take the bet, but a shady looking guy in a suit orders him to take the bet.
- The spin doesn't go Johnny's way and he senses a cheat. But he doesn't say anything and leaves quietly as Crystal ditches him for blowing all his cash.
- Johnny heads back home to his apartment building.
