Character Analysis
The Visitor is an official of the New Order government whose job seems to consist of visiting Whit and Wisty in prison. "A towering skeletal figure—almost inhumanly tall" (25.8), The Visitor "was like death itself, but in modern garb" (25.9). He carries a leather riding crop that he's a little too fond of using, and he eventually receives his comeuppance when he's executed for allowing Whit and Wisty to escape.
