Maybe as pariah. If you're a realllly bad - or corrupt - loan officer, you'll get headlines - just not the kind you want. If you do an awesome job for your clients, you'll get referrals and maybe even be mentioned in the prayers of new home owners as they move in (until they write their first big real estate tax checks).
