Know more than we do? Tell Us!

Loan Officers usually start their careers working for mortgage brokers or in the sales function of home mortgages; they can also start on the processing end and/or on the legal and packaging end from the bank. Lots of ways to get in; not many to get out. (If you can master this concept, there may instead be a bright future ahead of you as a casino architect.) That is, if a loan officer washes out of the gig, other than selling mortgages, there aren’t a lot of careers out there to be had. And in fact, the personality mesh is weak – someone who “plays defense” as a Loan Officer usually just doesn’t have the “salesy” personality of someone who will pound down the doors of realtors in order to get referrals so that they can win booty.
