Character Analysis
Carter is a big, strong football player and a boxer. He's also the president of The Vigils. Unlike Archie, he doesn't mind using sheer physical force to command respect, as we see in the Frankie Rollo incident. He's also not afraid of Archie and doesn't hesitate to put him on probation until he gets all the chocolates sold. He wants the chocolates sold because he knows Archie made a commitment to Brother Leon. And even Carter doesn't want to tangle with Brother Leon.
