Richy Rondell is Howie Anderson's friend. When Richy says he admires Jerry's act, Howie is ready to call a class meeting and organize a just-say-no-to-selling-chocolates rally. The fact that he's excitedly grabbing his crotch while he's proposing this shouldn't undermine the importance of this moment. If Howie had agreed, this might have been a very different book. In fact, Richy is the only person who even thinks about organizing the students to stick up for themselves against Leon and The Vigils.
