  • Charlie's waiting for the big surgery that's going to make him super-smart. In the meantime, he writes down everything he remembers.
  • Charlie's long-lost sister gives the okay for the surgery, so all systems are go.
  • Meet your nemesis, Charlie: he's a little mouse named Algernon who already got the surgery. Algernon seems to have a leg up on Charlie in everything, especially beating him in a special maze.
  • Post-surgery, Charlie's got to study like crazy to get up to speed. Luckily, Miss Alice Kinnian's got his back.
  • Hey, Alice is pretty cute. Charlie takes her out on a date, but they decide to keep it on a friendship level.
  • Charlie confronts a bakery employee he sees stealing, making his old buddies mad, and he ends up getting fired because he's not like his old self.
  • It's off to a Chicago conference, where Charlie and Algernon will get top billing. Charlie takes off with Algernon right before the big presentation though, leaving Nemur and Strauss high and dry.
  • It's back to NYC for Charlie, who sets up an apartment with his favorite mousey friend.

  • Charlie mourns the loss of Algernon, and gets ready to go back to his old self.
  • Finally, Charlie gets together with Alice. It's short-lived, because he's reverting pretty quickly.
  • Charlie's intelligence is totally gone. He shows up at Alice's classroom, but ends up admitting himself to the Warren State School.
