Perfect Chapter 7 Summary

Sean

  • Sean wants to know how people expect to achieve things without putting in any effort.
  • He's determined to create a structured path to getting where he wants to be—no more of this "wrong place, wrong time" stuff. That's how he lost his parents, and he's not going to lose Cara, too.
  • He's determined to marry her, so right now he's working on his plan to go to college with her.
  • He says he's slept with a few other girls, but they were all "appetizers," and Cara's a "main course."
  • They haven't had sex yet, but he's okay with waiting a bit longer, since they're going to get married and all.
  • His brother, Chad, thinks he's nuts—Chad says Sean can't know if Cara is marriage material unless he takes her for a "test drive." Stay classy, Chad.
  • Sean says girls are pretty much all the same in bed, though. Case in point: Kendra. He had sex with her before she hooked up with Conner.
  • He asks Cara why Kendra's texting her, and Cara says it's nothing important. However, Cara seems like she's really contemplating every text she sends. She won't tell him what's up.
  • Sean mentions that Cara isn't a much better communicator than her mother, but he'd never tell her that, and instead he asks if she's heard from Stanford.
  • Cara says she hasn't yet, but she did hear from Loyola. She got in.
  • Sean's not happy about the possible change of plans, so he plays off the Loyola thing and changes the subject. He asks if Conner's "all healed up yet."
  • Cara asks if it's Dig Up Information on Conner Day. She doesn't answer his question.
