The Prince and the Hermit

  • Edward runs away into the woods. He keeps running until nightfall and starts to worry that he won't find anywhere safe to rest for the night. Who knows what kinds of trolls and witches are lurking in the trees, right?
  • But Edward is in luck: he finds a little shack with a light on inside. Who's inside? A hermit.
  • Edward thinks that he's saved, and the hermit invites him into his home. There's just one tiny problem: the hermit thinks that Edward has renounced the throne for a life of simplicity. Yeah, not quite.
  • There's another problem: the hermit is crazy, and it was none other than Edward's dad, King Henry VIII, cast him into poverty.
  • That's when the story starts to go all Silence of the Lambs on us. The hermit seems more than a little crazy, and he starts to sharpen a large knife while talking about how happy he is that Henry is dead. Things aren't looking good for Edward.
  • While Edward is sleeping, the hermit ties him up and gags him so that he won't scream and alert the neighbors that something is going very, very wrong.
