- An orderly leads McMurphy into an office to see one of the facility's doctors. The doctor makes small talk before asking McMurphy why he's been sent to a mental hospital. McMurphy says it's because he fights and has sex too much (although he uses some more colorful language).
- We find out that McMurphy has been sent to the hospital to determine whether or not he's mentally ill.
- We also find out he's been arrested five times for assault… and he's been arrested for having sex with a fifteen year-old girl. McMurphy argues that the girl lied about her age and was very wiling to have sex with him.
- The doctor says he's sympathetic to McMurphy's sexual urges. But he also wonders if McMurphy has been faking mental illness to get out of his prison work.
- McMurphy says he hasn't been faking anything because he's sane and has always acted sane.
