Character Analysis

One Flew's mental hospital is populated by many other patients, all with varying issues and varying levels of prominence. These patients mainly serve to show the power of McMurphy's influence in the ward by showing how much he's managed to boost their morale by giving them the guts to stand up to Ratched—at least, a little bit.
