When Night and Darkness Fell
- After a rough day, Helena is having trouble sleeping. When she wakes up from a bad dream, she sees Louise slipping out of bed and knows that her little sis is heading to Camilla's bedroom. Louise and Camilla like to chat it up at night. Well, Camilla chats and Louise listens.
- When Louise returns, she tells Helena that the Upstairs Cranstons are moving soon—and they're moving to London, England.
- This news doesn't help Helena to sleep, so she decides she must see Aunt Fannie Fenimore—she's a smart mouse who should have some good advice for Helena and her siblings.
- Then a weird thing happens: Helena thinks she's dreaming, but she sees Beatrice get up and slip out of their mouse-house. Helena sure does seem to be the only mouse not visiting folks in the middle of the night.
