Let's face it: Jamie isn't thinking about sex at all. It's more her mom who worries about that kind of thing, and even then, we only get a glimpse of this when we hear that she isn't stokes about "a girl my age, on the very edge of womanhood" (3.28) hanging around a bunch of soldiers at the rec center. Aside from this, though, we hear nothing about puberty or sexuality. Jamie is more interested in the war and winning a game of gin rummy than she is in flirting at this stage.
