Two other monsters get into the kids' room on Midsummer Eve, first masquerading as hungry wolves, and then transforming into "A twelve-foot centipede with three sets of wings and three pairs of taloned feet [… and] A brutish monster with a pronounced underbite and plates down its spine" (10.143). Looks can be deceiving, but not in this case—whether they're in wolf or monster form.
