Emma
- Emma rushes out of the library with the photocopied pages under her arm; she's so distracted that she doesn't realize Dylan's been calling her name. He catches up to her outside and asks for a ride. Since Emma has to run to the store to get a phone card for out-of-state, she agrees to drop him at 7-Eleven.
- In conversation, Dylan mentions that he's gotten books from the library by his girlfriend's favorite author. Emma is miffed because when she was dating Dylan, she read the same author and he didn't care. Ugh.
- She drops Dylan off and gets her phone card. On the ride home, "Wonderwall" is playing on the radio. She turns it off, pondering the lyrics and how she is getting rid of one of the "winding roads" (23.23) in her life.
