- Back in the main room, Rick slips the letters of transit in the piano. Because nobody ever checks the piano. Amateur.
- Ferrari, the owner of a neighboring club, sits down and makes eye contact with Rick, actually getting a smile out of him. (Wow, this guy must have killed a lot of Nazis.)
- Ferrari makes Rick an offer to buy the café, but Rick isn't selling. He also suggests buying Sam, the piano player (who's black, by the way), but Rick also isn't in the business of buying and selling human beings.
- A girl at the bar, Yvonne, is giving Rick the stink-eye. Rick goes to the bar but ignores her. Awwwwwkward…
- Yvonne, who apparently has an on-again-off-again thing with Rick, starts getting a little too all up in his business, and he has Sacha, the bartender, call her a cab.
