- How many Nazis can you fit in a plane? Okay, so we don't have a punchline handy for that one, but seriously, there are a lot of Nazis filing out of this plane.
- There's saluting and Heil Hitler-ing, and we learn that the big guy in charge is named Major Strasser. Strasser, fresh off the plane, is introduced to the Police Prefect of Casablanca, Captain Renault.
- Renault informs Strasser that everything is being done to round up suspects in the murder case. Another officer, Herr Heinze, interjects to say that they already know who the murderer is. In fact, he's expected to be at Rick's that evening, where they plan to arrest him.
