- Back to the present, and Rick is good and drunk. Ilsa shows up, and Rick can't decide whether to smile or puke.
- Ilsa tries to explain what happened way back when, but an inebriated Rick is more interested in lobbing snide insults than getting to the bottom of things, and he ultimately drives her away. (It's looking like he's definitely leaning toward "puke" now.)
