- Ambitioso and Supervacuo's plan to kill Lussurioso and rescue Junior goes badly awry here. Since Lussurioso has been freed, the guards assume that they were referring to Junior when they said that their brother had been condemned to die.
- Junior, who has been hoping his brothers will free him, gets a letter from them saying they've come up with a trick to rescue him.
- But before the brothers can rescue him, the guards come to say he must die. Junior curses his brothers, not realizing that it's all a mistake, and though the guards tell him to pray for mercy before dying, he continues cursing and making light of his crime.
